Body and Movement

If there is one thing you can do that helps lift your spirits, reset your mind, sleep better, and enhance your general quality of life, it is to move your body in whatever way that works for you; and whatever you choose to do, try and make it fun or something that you enjoy. There seems to be a general agreement that if there was one “magic pill” that universally contributes to well-being, exercise/movement would be it. There are going to be highs and lows in life, many, if not all, which you have little to no control of, so if there is one “tool” to help cope with all that comes up in life, it is to move your body.

Yoga has been and continues to be my go-to form of movement, and for me it has helped with the mind-body connection and awareness that I continue to cultivate. The breathing elements of the practice have taught me how to down regulate my nervous system; appreciate the power of the breath; and adjust breathing patterns to energize or calm the body and mind.  It is remarkable and so powerful, and I hope you can access it wherever you are and whenever you need it.
