The Great Pause (aka COVID-19)
I would be remiss to not note that this blog was created during The Great Pause, AKA the Shelter-in-Place caused by the novel coronavirus of 2019/2020. A few highlights during this time (SIP started 13 March 2020; 2.5 months SIP to-date):
- School and work have moved online, and technology has changed the way we connect with each other and get things done, probably forever
- Everyone is struggling – parents, children, grandparents, people from all walks of life – to adjust to this new norm; staying at home; wearing masks when going outside; staying 6 feet away from each other at all times.
- This Pause has highlighted inequities across many realms– socio-economic, racial, gender, and ethnicity, to name a few. Those who were already struggling are at the end of their ropes.
